
Biography
Jerry Tsui is a passionate British musician with versatile experiences working on piano pedagogy, concert performances, recording sessions, composing, music productions as a concert pianist, music educator, composer, arranger, orchestrator, score producer, music director and conductor.
He was a resident composer, arranger, orchestrator, music supervisor, sound engineer, and pianist at The People’s Orchestra during season 2021 - 2022.
Concert Pianist
Tsui’s recent performance highlights include his piano performance in one of Commonwealth Game Theme Music ‘We Are One’ with The People’s Orchestra, and live piano recital by the Meridian Records. He gave his concerto debut playing Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto with Englefield Green Festival Orchestral and was awarded as a prize winner in the University of London Concerto Prize. He also performed Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto and many other chamber music with Musicians in Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Also a collaborative pianist, He works with different professional musicians and music ensembles notably Chroma Ensemble. In 2024, Prajna Indrawati and he formed a piano duo ‘Bel Canto’, meaning ‘beautiful singing’. They are eager to seek out new and neglected repertoire for piano duo.
He attended workshops and masterclasses taught by Peter Donohoe, Christine Croshaw, Raymond Young, Ian Hobson, Nicholas Ashton, John Thwaites, Daniel Tong, and Daniel Browell.
Composer / Arranger

He arranged and re-arranged many Classical works, television tunes, pop songs, and soundtrack. Notably: Jazz Suite No. 2 by Shostakovich, La La Land, The Nutcrackers, The Carnival of the Animals, Black Panther Symphonic Suite, Beauty and the Beast Suites, Maleficent Symphonic Suites, Harry Potter Christmas Suites etc. He collaborated with The People’s Orchestra for the Commonwealth Game Birmingham 2022, which he assisted an award-winning composer John Koutselinis on recording ‘We Are One’ as part of the Commonwealth Community Music Initiative.
He also orchestrated and arranged for The Rusty Players’ Orchestra, The People’s Show Choirs, and the recently established The People’s Big Band.
He also worked on other various film projects with different filmmakers and content creators. His film scoring style signifies the combinations between orchestral timbres, indie rock, experimental performance techniques, and ambient electronics. He studied film scoring and orchestrations with Dr. Chris Whiter and Brian Lock in Royal Holloway, and Neil Stemp in Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
He received his Bachelor of Music (Honour) Degree at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he studied piano, chamber music and contemporary performance with Matthew Stanley and Mary Dullea. Meanwhile, he won the University of London Concerto Competition, wherein he performed the Rachmaninov second piano concerto. He also studied composition with Mark Bowden, Samantha Fernando, Arron Holloway-Nahum, Nina Whiteman and John Trail in Royal Holloway. He continued his Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Where he studied piano with Mark Bebbington and Julian Jacobson, and conducting study with Daniele Rosina.
